Misti Janes, Paralegal

Misti Janes has been a family law paralegal since 2001 and is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She worked in Amarillo before relocating to the Austin area in 2014. Misti is a graduate of the Amarillo College Paralegal Studies program, where she went on to teach the family law class. Misti is and has been an active member of the Paralegal Division of the State Bar of Texas since 2004. She was a district director for District 7 (for the Amarillo and Texas Panhandle area) for four years before being elected president for 2013-2014. She enjoys serving the paralegal community in Texas in her many different roles.

Charlyne Ragsdale, Paralegal

Charlyne Ragsdale has worked in the legal field for more than 30 years, with 25 years in the area of family law. She is a charter member of the paralegal division of the State Bar of Texas. She became board-certified in the area of family law in June 1994, the first time that the opportunity for specialty certification for paralegals was offered in Texas. She served for 10 years on the board of the Texas Board of Legal Specialization for family law. She has been an active participant in the organization and has been a presenter at numerous continuing legal education seminars across the state.

Ryan Dixon has an associate degree in applied science in legal studies. She has 12 years of legal experience and has focused exclusively on family law cases since 2006. She enjoys working with clients to gather the information necessary to navigate the family law process. Ryan is a member of the State Bar of Texas Paralegal Division.


Michele L. Locke

Michele Locke is a former Associate Court Judge that has returned to private practice to continue pursuing her passion for family law litigation. The Court that Michele ran was a Domestic Violence Court that focused on Protective Order Applications, divorce, custody, child support, enforcement and other family law matters that arose out of those Protective Orders. Furthermore, for a period of time, she ran the Child Protective Services Court. She is knowledgeable in contested family law matters that involve issues of domestic violence, stalking, harassment, and child abuse. The Court was a forerunner in addressing issues that related to Same-Sex relationships.

Juan Diaz has been a family law paralegal since 2012 and is a member of the State Bar of Texas Paralegal Division. He earned a bachelor’s degree from St. Edward’s University in International Relations and Legal Studies, and a Paralegal Certificate from the University of Texas at Austin. He is passionate about assisting clients during difficult times, whether by drafting case-related paperwork or assisting in trial. When not working, Juan enjoys singing and playing music around town. Juan is a native Austinite.

Kimberly Edgington has worked in the legal field for over 25 years, with 20 years in the area of family law. She began her career working at a law firm in California and never stopped. She moved to Texas in 2002 and has made it her forever home. She became board-certified in the area of family law in December 2008. Kimberly enjoys working with clients and assisting them with their legal issues. When not working, you will find her spending time with her husband and children or shoe shopping. Kimberly is also a member of the Paralegal Division of the State Bar of Texas.
