Bradley M. Coldwell

Partner

Brad grew up in Austin and has exclusively practiced family law in Austin/Travis County and Central Texas for over 20 years following his graduations from Texas A&M University and the South Texas College of Law.

Brad has garnered a reputation as a skilled and accomplished advocate that has demonstrated his commitment to working to resolve cases by agreement, when possible, and effectively and aggressively representing clients in bench or jury trials when necessary.

Brad has received an AV Rating from Martindale Hubbell indicating the highest possible achievement in both legal ability and ethical standards for the last ten years, including the Judicial Edition for several years, including 2022, that reflects the anonymous opinions of Judges.

U.S. News & World Report has repeatedly recognized Brad in Best Lawyers and Coldwell | Bowes, LLP as a Tier 1 Metro Family Law Firm, both most recently in 2022.

Brad has been recognized as aTexas Super Lawyer each year since 2013 and by Texas Monthly repeatedly as among the Top 50 Attorneys in Central/West Texas.

Brad has experience handling high net worth/complex property cases and high-profile cases, including celebrity representation, that may involve submitting disputes to private judges or arbitrators, if agreed by the parties, to, in part, protect any children that may be involved as well as the parties’ privacy and financial information.

Brad also has experience handling high-conflict custody cases, including those involving child abuse resulting from parental alienation.

Brad works with his clients and, as may be needed, experts to prepare cases for resolution by agreement when possible or at trial when necessary.

Whether working with forensic accountants, tax advisors, estate planning experts re: the various instruments often involved in high net worth divorces, and/or various mental health professionals to address a myriad of issues that may be facing the parties and/or their children, Brad is prepared to help you navigate the process.

Brad’s clients appreciate his personal attention, dedication, commitment to helping them make the best decisions for their unique circumstances, and belief that litigants should aspire to work through the divorce process and any other family law matter with integrity and dignity.

Unfortunately, there are times when an opposing party will dramatize events and/or make false allegations in an effort to vilify their spouse/opposing party to try and improve their legal position.  Such tactics are damaging to the parties, any children that may be involved, and causes the parties to incur attorney’s fees unnecessarily.  In those situations, Brad has the experience to address and expose such maneuvers.

Brad’s time away from the office is usually spent with Gina, his wife, their two kids, Marshall and Camille, and their dogs, Bess and Millie, often on Lake LBJ.

Brad also enjoys hiking locally and to destinations such as Big Bend, Peru, and Colorado, traveling domestically and abroad, being on the Hike & Bike trail, taking canoe/kayak river trips, and supporting his Fightin’ Texas Aggies.
